When she entered high school, she tucked away her creative side and jumped head-first into academics, work, and service projects. She graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Political Science and Communication when she was twenty years old. After years away from her

writing, Rochelle picked up a pen and started fleshing out a character sketch that she outlined when she was twelve. Finding Kia Synopsis
“Maybe you should avoid me tonight.”
His arm slipped around my waist and I was drawn into his chest. “If I only have this one night
with you, the last thing I’m going to do is stay away.”
Kia Valentines had always accepted the fact that she was a nerd, a nobody. It was a badge she
wore with honor, until the day she saved Claudia DeLorenzo’s life and lost herself.
When offered the chance to shed her identity for a single night, Kia never believed it would
change her life. It was one night. It meant nothing, or it shouldn't have. But that single night
turned out to be her undoing when she finds passion in the arms of the one person she can never
have.
Adam Chaves was more than just a gorgeous face, he made her laugh, but more importantly,
when he looked at her, she felt like the most beautiful girl on earth. But Adam has no idea that
Kia was the girl behind the mask and Kia has no intention of telling him. But a secret can only be
kept if no one else knows about it. Claudia knows and she wants something Kia isn't willing to
give in order to keep it.
Will Kia succumb? And just how far is Claudia willing to go to get what she wants?
Cambria Hebert is the author of the young adult paranormal Heven and Hell series and the Death Escorts series. She loves a caramel latte, hates math and is afraid of chickens (yes, chickens). She went to college for a bachelor’s degree, couldn’t pick a major and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair. She currently lives in North Carolina with her husband and children (both human and furry) where she is plotting her next book. Touching Fire Synopsis

Fallon’s on the run again, but this time, she’s not alone and she has a direction — she’s

going to meet the man whose blood runs through her veins, the only man who can finally tell

her who… what she is and why Garrison wants her so badly. But the truth may be more than she

can handle when she falls from one world into another, one that shouldn’t exist and learns truths

about herself that she may wish she never knew.

Faced with a reality so beyond comprehension, Fallon must accept the destiny she’s

given because Garrison will stop at nothing to insure the success of The Amalie Project, even if

he must do the unthinkable and become just like Fallon.

Touch Vengeance. Touch Malice. Touch Fire.

Excerpt

He was still waiting when I joined him again, composed. He stood with his back against

the wall, his hands lost deep into the folds of his pockets. He was studying his shoes, his hair

falling in thick fringes over his eyes. Those blue eyes rose, crystalline pools of electricity, and

met mine, and my world stopped. My breath stopped. My heart would have stopped if it wasn’t

drumming a tempo of pure elation at the sight of him. It ached, so desperate for the need to

be closer. God, it was never close enough. I could crawl into him, burrow into his soul and it

wouldn’t be enough.

I took a step closer, as unsteady as a new born calf. He caught my hand, reeled me to him

without ever pushing away from the wall. I was pulled into the space between his feet, held there

as he bent my arm and twisted it around my own waist. I was pressed into him, his thighs hard

against mine. I felt his heartbeat through the fingertips he traced over the curve of my cheek.

“Stop touching me,” I gasped, cotton-mouthed, half-crazed by the possibility that he

might take me seriously.

“Why?” His breath fanned over my dry and already parted lips.

I opened my eyes, surprised to find them closed. “Because I won’t want you to stop.”

The band of steel around my waist tightened until I was supported only by him, by his

arm, his chest, his heat, his scent… God, I was home! My fingers curled into the soft material of

his fresh, clean shirt. He must have changed, but it was yet another black t-shirt.

“I can’t.” His lips wrote each word against mine in the caress of butterfly wings.

My bones liquefied. I nearly fainted.

“Why?” The single word was a mere movement of my lips.

His free hand shackled my chin, guided my face up, held me prisoner to eyes much too

animal to be human. “Because I don’t want to stop.”

If there was ever any possibility of remembering to breathe, it was gone. I was barely

conscious, barely even sane as I sunk into blissful madness cured only by his lips… his touch.

“Touch me!” My desperate plea was met with a fierce growl.

His eyes, dark, feral, bore into mine. “Not here!”

I opened my mouth to protest, to beg, but his finger against my lips became a barricade,

trapping the words on my tongue.

“Don’t!” he hissed. His finger drew back, traced the curve of my bottom lip. His eyes

followed the slow caress the way a cat watches a canary. “I can’t promise I’m completely in

control right now.”
Author Bio

Airicka Phoenix is the best-selling author of the Touch Series with short stories in

Whispered Beginnings: A Clever Fiction Anthology and Midnight Surrender Anthology. When

she's not hammering away at the keyboard, she can be found banishing pirates or crawling

through the attic looking for lost treasure with her kids. She loves baking, gardening and reading.

She also likes to travel and take pictures of everything she comes across. When asked, Airicka

describes herself as a sarcastic basket case that has an unhealthy addiction to chocolate, old

movies and really bad jokes. She loves to laugh, make friends and write. If she could have one

wish granted, it would be to spend one day as a fly-on-the-wall inside Stephen King's mind.

If she could have two wishes granted, she would ask for a castle dedicated entirely to her

overwhelming collection of books.

RAKSHA BLURB\

She has no name.

She has her knives, her training, and her halo.

The first and second give her the ability to defeat the opponents she is pitted against each
month. The third frees her from pain and fear. From any kind of emotion at all. Everything is
as it should be. Everything is as it should be, until…

Fear… Pain… Anger… Happiness… Desire… Guilt…

Love.

When a newly named Kit escapes the Sanctuary after killing her best friend, the last thing
she needs is another knife in her hand. Or Ryka, the damaged, beautiful blond boy, whom
she refuses to let save her. The sights and sounds of Freetown are new, yet one thing is
familiar: the matches. The only difference? Where the blood in the Sanctuary landed only on
the Colosseum floor, Kit will quickly learn that a river of red runs through Freetown’s very
streets.

Without her halo, the inhabitants of Kit’s new home consider her saved, but is that really the
case? Would she be better off free of the guilt associated with all the blood on her hands, or is
the love of one boy worth living through all the pain?

Raksha is the call of the dead. It is the rumbling chant for fresh blood from the other side, the
demand for sacrifice. The Colosseum is behind Kit. The fighting pits await.
Book Description:
Facing an unstable future, Chela Prizeon leaves Castle Hayne and crosses over to enemy
territory in pursuit of Faris--the boy of royal blood who is cursed by a bitter rival. But
soon Chela learns that he has been taken deep into the treacherous frozen prisons--a
majestic, but deadly place where people enter and are never seen again. To find the boy
she loves, Chela must join forces with one of her greatest enemies. And even though
she pulls strength from the good in her powers, she finds herself drawn to the dark side's
temptation as well.

Narrated from both Chela's and Faris's point of view, this enchanting sequel to When
Copper Suns Fall will take them on a voyage into unknown lands, where the dark,
Author Bio:
I live in the City of Alchemy and Medicine, North Carolina. I write about people doing
fantastical things in magical worlds. Sometimes they fall for each other and make
sacrifices for their friends. Oh, and sometimes they love music and nature too. I live with
my two sons,a guinea pig, a cat, and two dogs. Now that I have completed my MFA in
creative writing, I find that I have a little extra time to play CLUE more often. I live in
an L-shaped house dedicated to my grandmother. It has a secret library complete with
fairies, venetian plastered walls, and a desk made out of clear blue glass.
Autrhor Bio:
Rochelle grew up dreaming up stories. When she entered high school, she tucked away
her creative side and jumped head-first into academics, work, and service projects. She
graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Political Science and Communication when
she was twenty years old. After years away from her writing, Rochelle picked up a pen
and started fleshing out a character sketch that she outlined when she was twelve. That
sketch was the start of the Ashes and Ice story. Rochelle lives in the DC metro area with
her husband and daughter. By day she works as a behavioral therapist. By night, she is a
dreamer and is busy tapping out new stories on her keyboard.

Book Description:
Harry Potter meets Animal House in this magical comedy about a school crazier then
any other!

Richard "Vegas" Beltran is an underachiever. That’s bad for any student, but it’s
especially bad when you go to a wizardry school. Black Magic is something to
be taken very seriously, but Vegas has been caught smoking “eye of newt” in
the boys’ bathroom, and all of his bubbling cauldrons seem to contain ice and
alcohol…

The principal, Professor Diaz, is ready to drop Vegas into a slower-paced magic
class. But Vegas would rather die, Houdini-style, in a botched escape act than
have to suffer through “remedial magic.” After all, Vegas only came to Absolution
High, school for the “Special Sciences,” to learn a spell that would bring his
girlfriend, Katherine, back from the dead.

Unfortunately, now that his tuition's been paid, he finds that resurrecting the
dead is an act of Godslaughter—a forbidden form of magic—and at Absolution
Academy, an illegal activity.
But “illegal” is a funny word…and one among many that Vegas doesn’t know the
meaning of…

Author Bio:
Li Chaka is spends her time dreaming about drunken wizards, music obsessed
necromancers and Bill Murray movies (Ghostbusters 2 being the FAV!). Sometimes she
writes down these strange ideas just for her own enjoyment. Then she heard that some
people actually make MONEY off of writing and selling their strange ideas. Lord have
Mercy! Will wonders ever cease !? Magic School U.S.A is her first published book but it
won't be her last.

Purchase a copy at: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CF8NPD4

Websites: http://www.charliefey.com

Fanpage: https://www.facebook.com/MagicSchoolUSA

Excerpt:

There were only a few lights on in the hallways, but other than that, the coast

was clear. The adrenaline was pumping in Vegas's body and, in a way, he felt awesome.

Exhilarating! It probably wasn't good that he got such a rush from being bad, but it was

what it was. He pulled a beer out of the pouch of his hoodie, cracked it open and started

chugging it. More awesome! He knew there had to be security cameras mounted up

all over the dormitory, especially the little lounge area with the big screen TV. Magicians

were known for stealing, right? As if half of magic isn't about making expensive shit

disappear. The guards were probably half-asleep or jerking off to videos of the girls’

volleyball practice. Either way, he prayed they'd be too preoccupied to care what he

was up too. Once he got outside, though, there would be other problems. The Tommy

Walkers were being placed around the school grounds. He remembered what Wesley

had said about them being created to restrict unauthorized magic. Those Illuminati

death machines were made just for bad little monkeys like Vegas.

He felt the nice cool air blast his face as soon as he opened the heavy double

doors. The cold of this island was something a California boy like Vegas was not

yet accustomed to. But, as he wandered around the back end of the dormitories, he

admitted that the Menzai nights were even more beautiful than the California nights. The

sky was filled with stars and they seemed almost close enough to reach for. He'd been

on earth for sixteen years, but night and day was still an amazing concept for him.

He wanted to break into Allen Allens’ lab, but he had to make it halfway across

campus to do so. The box carrying Vladimir was clutched to his chest as he snuck

around the back. He saw the guard station and ducked behind a tree. Dwight was inside

the booth fast asleep. Vegas wanted to conjure up a spell to mess with him a little,

maybe hex him a nice wet dream starring Barney, one of the other guards. Shenanigans

like that would have to wait though. Vegas was on an important mission. He was gonna

have to go stealth ninja mode and creep his way across campus.

"So I creep…yeah-aah. Just keep it on da down low…" Vegas sang the old

T.L.C. song silently to himself, running and ducking behind another tree. "Nobody

is supposed to know...yeah-ah…"

He shot from that tree and dived behind another. He went a little go hard and

almost crushed Vladimir's box underneath him. Pushing twigs and nature crap out of his

way, Vegas heard a low grumbling as he started crawling on the ground like a marine.

Yeah, we're effin' pumped! Absolution Academy security probably didn't call for

this much stealth warrior-ness, but the Corona he'd been sipping was making Vegas

action ready. Let's milk this adventure for all it's worth!

"Yeah, I CREEP…yeah-ah, so Dwight won't know what I do..." Vegas continued

as he moved through the darkened grass. The grass felt moist, cool and amazing

against his skin. He imagined that the bright, white lights shining from poles around the

campus were moving, searching for him. They weren't; nobody cared. But this was

fun; he was a big kid using his imagination, running around in the grassy night

world like he was trying to escape from prison.

A squirrel darted out at him, and Vegas let out a surprised scream. The little furry

jackass landed on his back, ran down his ass between his legs and then shot straight

ahead, flying up a tree at sonic speed.

"Little fucker!" Vegas shouted at it. Even the wild life in this place was psycho.

"Creeping through the grass, squirrelly seems to like my ass..." Vegas

rapped. "Squirrelly wants some nuts, what a kick! It's late on a school night, he wants to

get romantic!"

He laughed, wondering how much he'd get paid to ghost write for Waka Flocka

Flame, when something suddenly grabbed hold of his leg.

What the Fuck?! He let out a fart from pure excitement as another hand

reached out of the ground and took hold of his neck.

"Aaaaaahhhhhh!!" Vegas yelled, struggling to pull himself up. Before he

could break free, two more hands grabbed his shoulders, pulling him back down

to the grass and dirt.

"DWIGHT! DWIGHT!" Vegas yelled. The hand around his throat squeezed

tighter, but it couldn't get a strong enough grip to stop Vegas from yelling. Not that it

made much difference; Dwight was in the security booth, napping away, as Vegas's

nighttime assault continued on the security cam in front of him.

Vegas pulled his neck away from the hand. "DWIIIIGGHT!!!"

His attention turned to the spot in front of him, his green eyes growing wide as

saucers, when two hands, one male and one with bright nail polish like a girls, sprouted

from the ground like corn stalks. He watched as the arms reached four feet tall and

continued to grow.

Frozen in shock, Vegas's eyes rolled up to gaze at the sprouting hands. Like

sunflowers in a nightmarish inverse world, they remained high above him, illuminated by

the moonlight. The fingers spread and easy, like flower petals.

Then, they bent at the elbow, palms slapping the ground. Whatever this creature

was, it was trying to pull itself out of the dirt.

Please somebody, shoot me in the head! Gouge out my eyes! I don't want to see

this! He silently begged.

The horror flushed all thoughts of escape away as the soil in front of him moved

and pulled apart. A human head unearthed itself, its black, hollow eye sockets turned to

face Vegas. Mort immediately came to Vegas's mind, except this cadaver was so much

more terrible. There was intelligence behind those eye sockets that couldn't be driven by

anything but pure evil.

The creature finally made it out of the soil only to reveal its true form. It wasn't a

rotting, smelly corpse after all---it was several rotting, smelly corpses all sewn together to

make a Zombie Spider!

The arms that sprouted out of the ground were the creature’s long, spider legs.

Its head was stitched onto the front of its body, barely erect, but able to turn and move

around. Its abdomen was made of two human ones sewn together.

Vegas had never seen anything so disgusting in his life, not even in his drunken

wet dreams. It was more than he could handle, and he began to feel a strange calm

wash over him. By the time he realized he was about to pass out, there was nothing he

could do to sto-...

The zombie spider moved towards Vegas as the unseen monster that had

snared the boy began to pull him under. The earth rumbled again as the soft soil spread

apart like water. And Vegas, trapped in the quiet dark of his unconsciousness, went

down, down, down. As if being dragged to hell.
Excerpt:
“Come in,” I say. Sammy opens the door and enters. “The funeral is in forty minutes,
get ready.” She turns and leaves, not even waiting for me to answer, slamming my door
behind her. I’m left alone again. I sigh and get up. So much for the loving family reunion.

I pull the only dress I own out of my suitcase. I had gotten this little black dress
when I thought I would try to date seriously. It was a soft satiny material, hung off the
shoulder, and accentuated my curves in all the right places. Not very appropriate for a
funeral, but it’s all I had. I slip into it, not bothering to do much with my hair. It’s always
been long, thick and straight as a stick. I slide on my black stilettos and stand at my
window. I don’t know what possessed me to buy these items. They are so unlike me. I
prefer jeans and t-shirts, sneakers, boots, casual clothing. I hated shopping. Seemed a
waste when I didn’t need anything.

Not like I ever met any guys worth dating. Most men I met were losers.
Criminals, married men looking to cheat, or violent. I wonder which category that
man from the station fits into. Why can’t I get him out of my head? What was it
about him that worries me? Besides the fact that I believe it was him following
us last night. It’s not like I can’t handle dangerous men. Between work and my
personal life, I’ve seen it all. I always pick the worst ones to date. I was raised
seeing a man treat women like garbage. I know it’s wrong, but I guess I craved
the confrontations. I wanted to prove to myself I was stronger than Ahi. Unlike
her, I fought back. I slip my .22 short into the small leg holster. I gaze at myself in
the mirror. Old habits die hard I suppose. Back in Chicago I won’t go anywhere
unarmed. I smooth down the sides of my dress, unnoticeable. Good. I pick up
my large black Coach purse, one of the few indulgences I allowed myself, sling it
over my shoulder, and I’m ready to go.

Book Description:
Stone Hamilton had never known fear...until the accident. Since then, his life has spiraled out of control. He's been kicked out of private school, deemed a disappointment by his father, and forced to endure his own guilt, anger, and grief. The last thing he wants is a relationship with someone who will have expectations of him. But once he's enticed by the shimmering-pink lips of the oh-so-popular, academically-excelling, straitlaced hottie from his new school, he knows he's in trouble.

Seventeen-year-old Dara Golding has one goal for the summer: make enough money to buy a car, so that she can drive to school her senior year. After starting a new job, she realizes that she'll be working with the brooding, motorcycle-riding, bad boy who started attending Quail Mountain High last year. With his less than stellar reputation, he's everything she's afraid of...and that makes him dangerous.

Their undeniable attraction has Stone struggling with his inner demons. As Dara slowly allows Stone to claim her heart, a little white lie to cover an ugly truth could determine whether she's his savior or the final straw that will break his sanity.
Excerpt:
Stone
“I’m so sorry,” she whispered frantically. “Are you okay?”

I rubbed the side of my temple, trying to determine the answer to her question. I felt a lump rising, and I closed my eyes for just a moment and breathed deeply.

“Let me see,” she said.

I held my palm up toward her. “I’m fine.” I dropped my palm to my knee, not yet rising from my stooped position.

Before I knew what she was doing, her fingers were in my hair, her gentle touch skimming over the spot where our heads bumped. She was so close that I could smell the delicate fragrance on her skin, and I found myself enticed by her.

“Oh, my gosh!” she exclaimed. “A knot. Great. My first day of work, and I’ve already given someone a concussion.”

I laughed, but I didn’t move. I didn’t know why I found her comment so amusing or why I didn’t want her to move her hands. Slowly, I rose, catching her slender wrists in my grasp. “I’m fine,” I said, feeling the pulse in her wrist quicken against my fingertips. Her brilliant green eyes widened, and her full, shimmering-pink lips parted in surprise. “What about you?” I asked.

I wasn’t sure if she heard my question. She stared at me in shock as if she had just been caught making out behind the bleachers by the principal.

“Dara?” I asked, starting to wonder if she was the one with the concussion.

“I’m…fine,” she said breathlessly.

I’d been around enough girls to know when I had an effect on them. And she was definitely affected.

Dara wasn’t the type of female I usually hung out with, but it was nice to know I had the same effect on the goody-two-shoes that I did on the bad girls.

My phone buzzed, and I pulled it out of my pocket, glancing at the caller’s name. Speaking of bad girls, Jessie was calling.

Dara
I thought my heart was going to pound out of my chest. If I hadn’t still been freezing from the cold rain that soaked my hair and clothes, sweat would’ve been trickling down my temples. The warmth from his hands was like heaven against my icy skin, but his close proximity was dangerous to my hammering heart. In fact, if I had to describe Stone Hamilton in one word, it would be dangerous.
Excerpts:

Iris watched her balcony doors open of their own accord, daring her to jump. The wind pushed and pulled the curtains but the doors were completely still against the walls, waiting for her to make a move. Her room was alive and gently trying to push her toleave the safety of its four walls, like a mother bird pushing its child from the nest.
“Yes. Fly. You can do it. You know you want to. Jump. It will be so easy.” Thevoice was soothing and feminine.
Iris threw the sheets off her legs and walked to her bedroom door. Turning and facing her balcony, trying to decide if she would give in to her bedroom’s strange form of guidance, she listened carefully to the hypnotic voice.
“Jump. You know you can do it. Run. Jump. Fly… Run. Jump. Fly. I will leadyou there. To the place you wish to see…”
The voice remained soft and lightly tempting but with no real force behind it, letting Iris know that the final decision was hers to make.

This wasn’t the first time her dreams had taken on a mind of their own. She would close her eyes each night and everything would meld with her memories of the night shedecided to never leave her father’s side. There was a big difference between Iris when she was awake and when she was fast asleep. When she slept, she knew that what her heart was telling her was true; she was only one leap of faith away from flying. Running to the balcony she climbed over the railing and looked at the night sky.
“It is so simple. Just…FALL.”
Janelle and Samantha have family they never knew about. Hiding out in Olcott, New York, Damien hopes to keep the evil in their life locked up and away from The Scepter of Okwaho, and from Jany. Fighting for the life of his new family, will he be able to save her in time?
Excerpt:
As night eventually draws near, it’s time to prep. There are bulletproof vests piled in the rear of the ship. I put one on, and pull the t-shirt over it. Sticking guns wherever I can, I have one in a holster on my leg, one in the rear waist of my pants, one tucked into my boot, and one I plan to hold in my hand. If I go down, I plan to take as many of them with me as I can. After sunset, I make my way from the ship, taking a final look back, knowing I’ll never see it again. A deep sense of foreboding settles over me like a fog. I’m going to die today. I know this, and will have to accept it. But even knowing that, I still press forward. It has to be done, this needs to end. Scaling the rocky beach walls, I make my way slowly back to the lake house I embarked from just the day before. A few miles later, and I’m standing, in pitch black darkness, staring at a dark house. As thunder crashes around me and lightning fills the sky, I know it’s the end. This will be my doom, destiny or glory. It’s all up to me and fate now. Let’s see who’s stronger.

The N in N. Kuhn is actually Nicole. She was born and raised in western New York. She grew up with a love of books, and a passion for writing. She was always found with her nose in a book. She finally decided to take the steps to embark into self publishing at the urging of her Grandmother. Mrs. Kuhn has dedicated her second book to Janet Starr, as she passed just days after being published.
Nicole survives on coffee alone. Mostly Tim Hortons. (It's a NY thing.) A fan of drinking it from the time she gets up, until she finally rests. When not writing, she crochets and spends time with her beautiful daughter and her husband. Her friends call her Octo-Mom because she multi-tasks so well. Between her full time job, family, crochet and writing, it's a wonder she ever sleeps.
Mrs. Kuhn feels that reading in our youth is a very important trait to instill. She reads with her young daughter as much as she can. "It's the most important thing a parent can ever do with a child. Read, teach them to read. Don't buy them toys, buy them books," She says.
Description:
17- year- old Ana Maria Tei’s life has always been perfect:
loving parents, good grades, and a future so bright it outshone the sun. But now
words like “separation” and “divorce” are sending her world plummeting to hell.
Determined to keep her family intact, Ana plans a family-bonding trip from
Vienna to Tuscany. Except fate has other plans. Ana’s parents and siblings are
killed in a car accident on their way to pick Ana up from school.

Enter
Grim, aka Ernest. He promises to relinquish the four souls if Ana agrees to
trade her soul for theirs and serve a lifetime as his novice. In order for Ana
to graduate from her Reaper’s Novice station to a Soul Collector graduate, Grim
puts her to test. To her horror, she finds out becoming a Reaper’s Novice didn’t
happen by chance. It was preordained, and she is forced to make a choice: save
her family’s souls or come to terms with who she really is and complete the task
set for her.

Realm series! Waking the Phoenix is the highly anticipated follow up to Breaking
the Nexus, which released on 12/12/12. While there is no official release date set,
Waking the Phoenix will be out early this summer!
In the meantime, I will be releasing Warrior Unleashed, a novella featuring Sha’s half
brother, a panther Chimerae (shifter) named Achaius. Be sure to look for that this
April!
Without further ado, I present the gorgeous cover designed by Blue Harvest
Creative!

Blurb:
As the Nexus continues to break down, evil threatens the Mythrian and Human
Realms. Millennia ago, only the sacrifice of the Great Phoenix was enough to
imprison Ferren, a blood mage with the power to destroy the Human Realm. When
the Nexus falls, his prison will shatter and he will be free to walk the earth once
more, leaving a path of destruction in his wake.
Chaos engulfs the Mythrian and Human Realms as Ferren fights to escape his prison.
Connor and Sha must race against time to find the last of the phoenixes before all
is lost. There’s just one problem: the phoenixes have lain dormant for thousands of
years. Can they stay alive long enough to save their world?
The key to saving the Realms lies in waking the phoenix.
Don’t miss the first book, Breaking the Nexus, available now on Amazon,
Barnes and Noble, and in paperback!
Breaking the Nexus will be on SALE for $2.99 March 8-11 only!
Meet Lindsay Avalon!
I am a wife, a programmer, and now an author. I have an adorable mini
Schnauzer and more books than I have room for. I love reading romance because
no matter what may be happening in my life, I can always count on my books to end
happily ever after. The day I met my husband was the day I truly began believing
in happily ever after. After hearing me complain a few too many times that I had
“nothing” to read despite the hundreds of paperbacks scattered around the house,
my husband began suggesting I write my own stories. When I finally took his advice
I discovered that although I enjoy my day job as a software engineer, my true calling
is to be an author.
My sister drilled into me an appreciation for fantasy and mythology, something
I try to bring to my books. My debut novel, Breaking the Nexus started as a book
written for NaNoWriMo and has grown to so much more. It was the conduit that
introduced me to a fantastic group of independent authors who have changed my
life in unimaginable ways.
When I’m not writing, I’ve found a passion for blogging and interviewing fellow
authors. I also love reading, baking, crochet, sewing sock monkeys, playing video
games, and all sorts of random crafts. I have an incurable love of rubber duckies and
stuffed animals, and I believe nobody should have to grow up if they don’t want.
A warrior trying to save humans. A detective searching for a killer. And a powerful
romance neither expected.
Throughout history, myths and legends of extraordinary creatures have been told
and retold. Fantastic tales of demons and banshees, gryphons and dragons, and
of course, magic. Stories that every child grows to learn are nothing more than
fantasy…or are they?
Beyond the world you see lies a hidden realm, the Mythrian Realm, inhabited by
all of the creatures you’ve been told are mere fiction. Only one thing lies between
humans and the truth: the Nexus. A magical barrier erected millennia ago to
separate the two realms, it has stood the test of time. Until now.
For Mythrian Sha Phoenix, magic is nothing new. But when she stumbles upon a
portal on the verge of collapse, her fate will forever change. Pulled through the
portal into the Human Realm, she lands in the middle of Detective Connor Flynn’s
brutal murder scene. Soon it is obvious someone is using blood magic to try to bring
down the Nexus. Together, Connor and Sha must work to unravel the secrets before
the barrier falls and the realms collide.
The Nexus is breaking and all hell is about to unleash…literally.
I thought about his words carefully. No, I didn’t miss them; I was really starting to

wonder if I ever had a family at all. “I don’t remember my family. Right now, you are the only
person I know.” I shrugged.
“And that doesn’t scare you?”
My eyes narrowed with confusion. I rolled over on to my stomach so I could see his face.
“Scare me? You don’t scare me.”
“I’m not trying to.” He chuckled lightly.
“Then what do you mean?”
“I mean,” he widened his eyes, “aren’t you afraid that you might be all alone now?”
“Oh.” I felt my shoulders deflate and my chin fell to rest on his ribs. “Well, I’ll … ” my
words faltered, “I’ll just … ”

He brought his hand up to stroke the back of my head. “I shouldn’t have said that,” he
said very softly.
“No, that’s fine.” I tried to sound indifferent. Realizing several things at once, I sat up
quickly. He didn’t want me here. I was burdening him and he was letting me know as kindly as
he could. I couldn’t let myself think he cared for me. He was being nice, that’s all. I would be on
my own when he got me to the Colony. I had to keep things in perspective.
Tears pricked my eyes when I realized that it was too late for me; I already loved him.
And he didn’t love me back, he just wanted to protect me.

Excerpt #2

The atmosphere around us changed drastically. My breathing came out in uneven gasps and I
was sure that he could hear my heart hammering in my chest. I reached my hand up slowly to
touch his face. This time he let me. My fingers traced his jaw line, his cheek, and finally his hard
lips, which were parted just slightly from his own haggard breathing.
Ever so painfully slow he brought his face closer to me. I closed my eyes and tilted my
chin in anticipation of his lips against mine. Seconds ticked by and nothing happened. I opened
my eyes in disappointment to find he was staring at me. He had moved further back in the saddle
to allow some distance between us.
“What’s wrong?” I breathed.
“I want to kiss you,” he growled.
“So?” I leaned forward eagerly, but his strong hands stopped me.
“I can’t kiss you, Eva.”
“Why not?” My face felt hot.
“It’s against my rules.”
“What rules?” I was confused.
“I can not let myself fall for someone,” he paused, trying to find the right words, but
finally he just finished, “like you.”
“What am I?” I felt my eyes sting with tears.
He groaned loudly and buried his face against my hair. He inhaled deeply and then
abruptly pulled my face up to meet his again.
His kiss was sudden and unexpected, but not unpleasant. As I responded to him, he
deepened the kiss and I soon found myself melted into his chest. I entwined my arms around his
neck to hold him to me. He made small noises with his mouth that sent a thrill of pleasure down
my spine.

After an amount of time that was too short he broke the kiss off, but his hands still
eagerly stroked my face and my hair and my neck. He kissed me again and again until I was
dizzy from the effect. I would have surely fallen off the saddle if Nickolas hadn’t been holding
onto me so tight.
“Oh, Eva,” he whispered roughly in my hair, “who are you?”

Blog Schedule

Feb 25 Review with http://jennswiger.blogspot.com/
Author, mother, cook, housekeeper, laundry do-er, sister, daughter. I enjoy writing, it allows me to
escape the realities of life: bills, day job, baths, supper, dieting, cleaning the litter box.
My writing is usually romantic in nature with a bit of humor and a bit of surprise. My books range from Vampires who
fall in and out of love so many times I had to make it a series to christian stories of finding out what is important in
life.
I have always loved writing. During my high school days I wrote one book. It was a vampire love story. It took me so
long to write it that I began to think of the characters as real people. I still do that today.
On a personal note: I have three wonderful children - Gavin, Arabelle, and Elijah, two not so wonderful cats, and two
rats. We all live in a small town in northern Ohio. There is more corn here than vampires or werewolves, at least that I
know of.

RAFFLECOPTER CODE

<a id="rc-c3da9715" class="rafl" href="http://www.rafflecopter.com/rafl/display/c3da9715/"
The Review
I thought the author of this book, hit the nail on the head, I loved this story and thought Dominick was the quintessential hero, even if he was supposed to be the bad guy, I loved Eva she dealt with whatever anyone threw at her with gusto, I would love to read more about these two and the new world that they are living in, The love/hate relationship between them had me engrossed from the start. I can't wait to read more from this amazing author, it was a great read and I absolutely loved the book.

Blurb:
Gabriel Slade runs Hollywood with his gorgeous blue eyes and egregious temper. No one
knows that underneath it all is a man with a frozen heart, cursed to become a beast at every
full moon. For seven days he has no choice but to roam the earth as a vicious animal, until he
meets a woman who can change it all.
Luna Grace has a hatred for everything Gabriel Slade stands for, but she doesn't even know
what he looks like. When a chance encounter reveals feelings Luna never knew she harboured,
it stands to reason that she would run.
Can Luna overcome her hatred and break the curse? Or will Gabriel's temper keep her from
realizing her true feelings, dooming him to remain the beast forever?
Excerpt One:
"This is nice."
"Yes, it is," he agreed and felt a little vain.
She unwound the red scarf from her neck. The gray cardigan almost fell from one
shoulder where he saw the red straps of a bra and a camisole. A soft scar marred the perfect
skin of her collar bone. Without thinking, he crossed to her and traced the scar with a finger. He
looked into her eyes. She'd stopped breathing. Gabe traced his finger down to the top button of
her cardigan and fondled it until the button popped free. It was nothing for him to be so brazen,
but tonight, with her, something about it felt dirty. But he continued. God in heaven, the camisole
underneath was the same bright red. When he looked up again her eyes almost glowed.
"What happened?"
"Oh, the scar? Um," she stuttered. He couldn't help but smirk. "My dad…"
His head snapped up, furious. Her father had done this to her?
"No!" she said in a rush. "We were practicing. It was my fault. I wasn't paying attention. I
can't remember… I think I was upset about a boy at school or something. I didn't get my sword
up in time. It was an accident."
Gabe nodded as he ground his back teeth together. Finally, the last button was free. He
pushed the cardigan from her shoulders, brushing her arms with his fingers as he did. Her skin
reacted to his touch and she shivered.
"Do you think it would be okay if…" She motioned to the bathroom.
He shrugged when he wanted to laugh. "Why not? It's just a toilet." The red popped
against her olive skin and all Gabe wanted to do was see more of her. When was the last time
he'd lost control of his lust?
She took her drink with her and closed the door. Finally the moment of truth. Gabe
slipped out of his suit jacket and unbuttoned his shirt. He rolled the sleeves up out of comfort
and habit and tossed back his drink. The glass he set on the dresser, and walked out onto the
balcony for some fresh air, hoping it would calm him down.
Hurry up, little one.
Excerpt Two:
"No, Michael. We've been over this."
"Maybe you can show me how it's done then. You're the all-knowing."
Gabe seethed, though he knew his friend was trying to help him out. "Fine. Luna!"
"What?"
He turned when she snapped at him. The tension in the room grew again, but this time
the stunt people were the ones panicking. How dare she speak to him that way? What made her
think she could get away with that? Gabe smiled inwardly. She could get away with anything.
Outwardly, Gabe let his exasperation with her free. "Come demonstrate with me. You
know these steps better than I."
She rolled her eyes, those shockingly green eyes, and moved to him around the people
that stood on their marks. Luna took the sword handed to her by the woman opposite Michael
and glared up at him.
"From the top!" he shouted and waited for the director to call action.
When the call was made, Gabe stepped against Luna, circling her as the others fought
around them. The ring of steel called to memory a day long past and he pushed the thought
away.
"Words fail where betrayal cuts deep, my love," he uttered the lines that belonged to
Michael. "Spurned from one side of the world to the other, my heart bleeds to realize what we
had was all a lie."
"Pretty words for a man, don't you think?" Luna surprised him by breathing the words
back. There was a force behind them he didn't care for, a spark in her eye that caught flame
and burned with some unknown hatred.
"Pretty? Hardly. Rhyme and verse, perhaps. The kind that comes from a broken heart
and dashed hopes."
"Your heart lives only for the sea, your hopes only dashed by rough waters."
She struck then, a blow he deflected with his own blade. He caught both wrists in both
his hands; she was tiny, so easily broken.
"My heart beats only for you," he breathed. Gabe looked down into her widening eyes as
she saw the truth in the words he'd changed to fit his liking.
Excerpt 3:
"You call this a party? I call it debauchery. That girl there," she pointed to a woman in a
pink cardigan and neon fuck-me heels, "she's on her fourth man of the night. I'm convinced
she's trying to sleep with everyone here."
"Why are you here?" That was the real question, wasn't it? If she hated it so much, why
was she really here?
"I came with my roommate who thinks she's going to get lucky - she usually does - and
my friend who is off chatting up a girl he won't call because he's in love with someone else."
"And she's not into him. Is that it?" There was something about the way she said that.
Her tone held frustration, annoyance.
"That's exactly it. He may get himself into the outer courts though."
Gabe laughed a deep, resonating, gleeful sound. "Outer courts? Is that what they call
them?"
"That's what I call them. Beautiful set up though."
He caught himself just before he said thank you. Time to move a bit. He stood, brushed
off his trousers, and offered her a hand. "Come," he said. "Let's go into the outer courts."
Strange words that hadn't been uttered in so long, they tasted bitter and cold.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica
Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">What is Self Injury (Self Harm)?</
b>

Self harm is any deliberate, non-suicidal behavior that inflicts
physical injury to a persons body. It's essentially a way to cope that enables one to deal
with intense emotional distress and creates a calming sensation. It can also be used as a way
to "awaken" a person who feels numb or dissociated with the world around them.
Self harm has an immediate effect which creates an instant relief but it's only temporary.
Any underlying emotions still remain. Over time, self injury can become a persons automatic
response to ordinary strains of life and the severity of self harm can increase.
Self injury can affect everyone from all types of lifestyles. The age, gender, sexual orientation,
ethnicity, or personal strength doesn't matter.
There are certain forms of self injury that are talked about more than others but if one has found
a unique way to hurt themselves, it's still self injury. When one self harms, there's not a severity
level or scale. Any type of self harm is "bad" enough for a person to get help. Every person
who suffers from self harm deserves help. Some people often feel they don't deserve help and it
can feel scary. It is essential to get immediate medical attention if a self inflicted wound seems
serious.
Please be aware that self injury is normally a non-suicidal behavior and is NOT a way for
a person to get attention. It's an emotional condition that deserves attention. Emotional
distress and stress can lead to self injury and can eventually lead into suicide if not treated
professionally. <span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-
serif;"> </
span>

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica
Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Ways to Get Help </
span>

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica
Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> </
span>

If you self harm and are thinking of seeking help it can be really
hard at first. One moment it may seem like it's easy to talk about at one moment and much harder
the next. The first step you can take is to talk to someone you trust. This can be a close friend,
family member, teacher, or counselor. Remember when talking to this trusted person, it
may upset them to hear that you self harm. They aren't judging you. It may upset them because
they care for you and it hurts to know that you've turned to self harm for your emotional support.
Give your trusted person time to "digest" what you are telling them. Then the both of you can
create a plan for recovery. As an example, where to go for medical attention before a more
serious problem occurs.

My Child Self Injures....What Next?

The first discovery of your child using self harm as their coping
mechanism can be hard. You may feel a mixture of shock, anger, guilt, worry, and this can upset
you. Try to remember not to panic or over react. Your initial reaction will have a great impact
on your child. It may affect how much they're willing to tell you or even stop them from opening
up to you. Each situation is different. The way you react can depend on several factors, which
include your child's age, reason behind their self harm,
and the way you found out. (Example: They came to you or you discovered their self injury by
accident.)

You may want to consider educating your self as much as you can on the subject to get a better understanding. Remember
not to show disgust or anger, which can increase your child's emotional distress. From the start of you finding out, remember
that you are NOT to blame for your child self harming.</
span>

Be sure you make it
clear to your child that you are there to support him/her in any way. Acknowledge that self injury is a secretive behavior and the fact that you know about it can be overwhelming. Your child may need time to get used to the idea that you know before talking to anyone
else.</
span>

Remember to focus on the underlying problem and not the self harm. Self harm takes time to give up. Be
prepared for many months of recovery and don't ask them to
stop. Do not prevent them from self injury by forcing them
to stop and removing the tools they have come to rely on
to cope. Before this can be done, a healthier coping mechanism must be found first. </
span> </
span>

Offer to take your child to a doctor and even suggest your support by showing you're
willing to go with them. Do not force your child. If they decline the offer of your presence at
the doctor, respect their privacy
and confidentiality. Never ask your child to see their self harm injuries unless you think it may
need medical attention. This will embarrass them and cause them to become more secretive
about their situation. Remember you want them to open up, not
push you away!</

still the same person you knew and loved before you found
out about their disorder. Never treat your child any different around others. <span style="font-
